Thanks for stopping by. I'm Carley, a Minnesota writer and cook. By day, I work in the technical world of interactive project management. By night, I'm usually standing in the kitchen with my sleeves rolled up, hunched over a pot or pan or mixing bowl of something. Or poking over a hot grill. I love that.
I started beans in the winter of 2013 as a way to keep track of my favorite recipes and push myself to write and cook creatively. My collection of favorites so far runs the gamut from baked chickpeas with curry tomato sauce to red wine pot roasts, and everything in between. Most of my cooking is done either for two (my boyfriend Adam, a wonderful eater, and myself), or for many (our friends who love to eat like we do). We're a happy and well-fed bunch.
My favorite cook is my mom, and my last name means beans in German.
